Root City Market Brings Southern Makers & Shoppers Together

Date: September 12, 2015

root cityRoot City Market is a quarterly pop-up market and Southern-made community that brings together makers who are proudly crafting in the South. Named after pioneering merchant Sidney Root, (who helped establish Grant Park) Root City Market is a grass roots community committed to connecting makers to eager consumers.

Jen Soong, founder and curator of Root City Market, says, “This market is about putting the spotlight on the abundance of talented Southern makers and we are proud to help incubate local, emerging businesses. There are so many people looking for a way to support local, and this is a fun, vibrant way to experience it all under one roof; a place where locals and makers can forge a meaningful connection.

At Root City Market, shoppers have the chance to truly meet and interact with some of Atlanta’s most talented makers, face-to-face such as Kyle Martin who hand cuts and sews leather bags and accessories at KMM & CO. or Caitlin Abshier of Revive Bath and Body whose small-batch, bath products are all plant-based and chemical free.
